This was a delightful experience. Chef Bruno and his wife went out of their way to make our family feel pampered. The server, Matteo, was kind, knowledgeable, and so polite!The food was amazing with fresh ingredients and special authentic touches. We didn't know this, but they usually need advanced warning for bigger groups. Our family of eight took them by surprise, but they accommodated us, and they created beautiful memories for our family on vacation. Our children are still talking about the calamari and tiramisu!
We had an exceptional lunch experience at L'Altra Milano in Waterdown today! The service was professional, attentive and friendly (thank you, Natalia), and the meal was truly exquisite! Complimentary warm baguette drizzled with EVOO and oregano was a lovely touch not seen in many restaurants! We thoroughly enjoyed the tender yet crispy fried calamari, the perfectly grilled octopus appetizer, the refreshing pear and Gorgonzola salad, the delicious mushroom risotto, the savoury spaghetti seafood, and fabulous desserts, a creamy affogato and the BEST tiramisù we've ever tasted! Congratulations to the owners, chef and staff of L'Altra Milano! We have found an authentic Italian restaurant gem!
Summary. Very welcoming. Friendly. Delicious Food. First we started with baguette with some olive oil. Oilve oil was very rich flavourful didn’t taste cheap., We started some salad with pear. Pear, blue cheese, walnut balances very well with other greens. Pasta was very tasty. You could taste the ocean. Shrimp. Clam. Mussel. Lamp is not my choice so I can’t add much but my wife cleared it and bones were all naked. We were going to end our dinner since they close at 9:00 but they didn’t rush us. We ended up trying tiramisu house made. It was not sweet. And again we cleared it. It was very rainy day and we finished with warm coffee.
I am completely speechless. We came here just on a whim. I am so glad we found it. I felt like I was back in Italy. This is the most authentic Italian restaurant I have been too. The food is absolutely amazing. We cleaned all of our plates and as we left we were planning our next visit. This family owned and operated business shows the determination of moving to Canada to live there Dream. They source as much of there food as they can directly from Italy. I just can't say enough. Please go try this place. You will not be disappointed.
Tonight my husband and went for dinner to the L’altra Milano and I can’t wait to leave this review! I am SO happy!! I am from Italy, lived in Ontario since 2019 and this is the first time I am leaving an Italian restaurant completely satisfied! If you want to eat Italian food as if you were in Italy you must try this restaurant! We had polpo (octopus) that was super tender and tasty, risotto, fresh pasta and an AMZING tiramisu! The staff is very welcoming and informative but not pushy. We totally recommend it, and we’ll definitely go back to try some more food soon!
Authentic Italian food… lived in Italy for 4 years and went to many restaurants. This restaurant is the same quality as the ones in Italy… the family was very very nice to us and the owners spoke with us for a long time and gave us extras. We also stayed 40 min after closing talking which is incredible… A hidden gem!! Healthy and amazing portions…
This was our first time here, but we will return often! Our family had an excellent experience - all perfectly prepared Italian dishes (veal, salmon, seafood and ooooh that pasta!). Chef Bruno and Natalia are wonderful hosts and spoke with us after dinner about their journey from Milan to creating this fantastic restaurant.
Outstandingly good food, literally some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life. I've heard about this place for years but for some reason never went until now, and it definitely deserves its reputation as the best restaurant in Waterdown. Heck, it's better than most Toronto restaurants in my opinion. We got the Gnocchi Pomodorini, the Caserecci Ai Funghi, and a tirimasu. All were exquisite. Even the free bread that came with the meal was some of the best bread I've ever had. Five stars!!
